Chicago’s electronic jam impresarios Future Rock return this month doing what they do best: playing live. Having released two studio albums since the trio’s 2004 formation (2006’s Sugar Coated Bullets and 2007’s Gears), the group is gearing up for the May 18 release of their first official live CD, Live From Wicker Park, on Harmonized Records.

Recorded in their hometown of Chicago during the Summer of 2009, Future Rock are prepared to release a live album capturing the raw energy of a live-electronic performance that packed the fair streets of their city, turning rooftops into dance floors and fans into maniacs hanging out of open windows. The atmosphere and the songs-six of which have never officially been released-are the best representation of Future Rock ever recorded.
On Perfect World, the New York based band’s third studio release, they harness the finesse and energy of their stage performance, channeling it through a wide ranging selection of road-tested songs with the resulting work being their finest album yet. Read the full review here.
